Club History
Al Khor  (previously Al Taawon) started off when Al Khor residents – who mainly worked in Oil and Gas- realized the importance of having a Club to provide them with their sports and social needs. Several meetings held between the residents between 1957 and 1959 which formed the club. These efforts were successful to establish the first club in the area under the name Al Taawon, nevertheless the Club seized activities quickly after.
However In 1961 the Club resumed the activities with the help of other residents with the focus on football and other sporting activities. The logo of Al Taawon consisted of yellow and white colors. During the same period, two other clubs existed in Al Khor area which are Al Jeel and Al Ossod, both running their activities separately. Due to the fact that the area doesn’t tolerate the three clubs, it was coordinated and agreed to unify their efforts under one club. Al Ossod Club joined Al Taawon Club on 05/04/1962 followed by Al Jeel Club on 07/02/1964.
Out of the belief of Al Taawon Club members to participate in the progress of the sports field in Qatar, the Club filed their request to join the QFA where the Club was officially registered by means of the decree number 13 issued on 10/06/1964.
On 30 June 2002, the QOC issued its decision to change Al Taawon Club name to become Al Khor Sports Club.
Al Khor lifted the Heir Apparent Cup in 2005 and the Sheikh Jassem Cup title in 2002. Al Khor have never won the QSL title.
