Round 16 of the QSL season will start on Friday afternoon with four games, each side will be targeting a win to improve their fortunes in the league.
The first game of the day will see Al Khor take on El Jaish. Jean Fernandez’s side tend to do well against the better teams in the QSL, and will be targeting back to back wins for the first time this season following their impressive 3-1 win over Al Sailiya last time out. As for title chasing El Jaish, they are facing a selection crisis with a number of key players out through injury and suspension. Jaish boss Sabri Lamouchi will hope that his side can keep up the pressure on the top two with a win.
At the same time, last years QSL champions Al Rayyan will take on Al Sailiya at Al Sadd stadium. Rayyan boss Michael Laudrup has made clear in recent week’s that his sides target is the top four places. The Lions have won three of their last four in the league and will be looking to maintain their fourth place spot in the standings. As for Al Sailiya they are hovering above the relegation zone and will be looking to frustrate Rayyan to secure a shock result.
It’s a top of the table clash in the third game of the day when Al Sadd welcome league leaders Lekhwiya to Al Sadd stadium. Both sides are undefeated in the league, and are separated by only two points. It promises to be a tight and interesting tie, between two sides who have played the best football in the league this season.
Al Arabi will take on struggling Al Kharaitiyat in the final game of the day. The Dream Team have been slowly improving in the league and will be looking to register back to back wins against Kharaitiyat this season. As for the Thunders they will come into the game on a high, following a 2-1 win over relegation rivals Al Wakrah last time out. Ahmad Al-Ajlani’s side are now out of the relegation places and will be aiming to keep it that way come the end of the weekend.
