Al Arabi-Al Mesaimeer friendly lined up
Al Arabi will play another friendly against Al Mesaimeer on Thursday after losing to Al Markhiya by a solitary goal a few days ago.
The friendly matches are part of the strategy being prepared by Croatian coach Luka Bonasic ahead of the QNB Stars League’s second phase, where Al Arabi open their campaign with an away game against Al Sailiya on 12th January at the Al Ahli Stadium.
Bonacic would be keen to take the positives from the Al Mesaimeer game and utilise the opportunity to experiment with combinations and tactical plans as they seek to improve their ninth position halfway through this season’s QNB Stars League. Al Arabi have only nine points from two victories and three draws. They suffered six defeats.
The players, except Ahmed Fathi, who represented Qatar at the Gulf Cup in Kuwait, had a workout on Saturday. He is expected to join training in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the team management is seeking a replacement for Tunisian defender Ammar Jemal, whose contract with the club was ended by mutual consent.
