Al Sadd’s Bounedjah to miss action for two months

Al Sadd’s Algerian spearhead Baghdad Bounedjah has been ruled out for up to two months following an injury he suffered during their 2-4 loss to Al Duhail in the QNB Stars League Week 9 on Friday.

Bounedjah had a fracture on his right leg and was replaced with Salem Al Hajri before the end of first half. He is to undergo an intensive rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the club’s medical staff.

The striker had missed the first three league matches due to an injury he sustained during the season-opening Sheikh Jassim Cup, which they won.

Meanwhile, Al Sadd started their preparations for the Al Khor match, scheduled for 1st December at the Khalifa International Stadium. Portuguese coach Jesualdo Ferreira excluded Hassan Al Haydous and Mohammed Morteza from Sunday’s training as they needed rest.

Young midfielder Ahmed Bader Sayyar attended the session, having recovered from an injury that kept him out of the Al Duhail game.
