Goalkeeper Sami among Al Sadd ranks


Top QNB Stars League team Al Sadd on Friday reached an agreement with former Qatar SC goalkeeper Sami Subait until the end of this season, keeping in mind the remaining league as well as cup engagements and AFC Champions League.

The club said Sami joined them in a free transfer deal.

The Wolves had on Thursday recruited striker Ali Faridoun on loan from Al Shamal, also till the end of the season.

Faridoun was Al Sadd’s second mid-season signing, after Hamed Ismail who returned from Al Arabi in a bid to strengthen their defence.

It may be recalled that goalkeeper Saoud Al Hajri, who joined Al Sadd from Al Rayyan last June, is to receive further treatment for his anterior cruciate ligament injury in Espanyol, Spain.

He is expected to fully recover from the injury, that he suffered during the team’s pre-season camp in Austria in August, and resume training in early February before the start of AFC Champions League.
