Al Sailiya returned to winning ways with a commanding 5-2 win over newcomers Al Markhiya in round-three of the QNB Stars League.
The game barely settled down into a rhythm when Al Sailiya grabbed the lead in the 4th minute through a spectacular effort from Wagner Ribeiro, the goal came when romanian midfielder Valentin Lazar chipped the ball to the Brazilian who launched a fierce left-footed drive that sailed into the top right side of the goalkeeper. It was the 29-year-old Brazilian star's third goal of the season as Al Markhiya backline were left stunned by the effort.
In their first serious threat at Al Sailiya goal, Al Markhiya produced an equaliser in the 12th minute through Burkina Faso striker
Alain Traore who fired one in off a direct free kick some 25 meters away from the goal line.
In the 23rd minute, Al Sailiya jumped to a 2-1 lead when Grigore produced a great header off a free-kick. Seven minutes from time in the first-half, Al Sailiya skipper Sedeeq fired one home from a corner kick to take the visitors to a 3-1 lead.
Temurkhodja Abdukholiqov added to Al Markhiya’s woes when he powered one into the net with a header from close range following a low cross from the left in the 55th minute as the visitors exhibit their free-flowing scoring prowess.
Valentin Lazar scored the fifth goal for Al Sailiya with a neat volley into the net in the 85th minute.
Al Markhiya's Ali Majbal reduced the deficit with a slick finish two minutes from time.
The results leave Al Markhiya still searching for their first win of the season while Al Sailiya are temporarley top of the QNB stars League with 6 points from two wins and a defeat to Al Sadd.
