Pre-Match Press Conference — Al Duhail

Al Duhail coach Djamel Belmadi spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Round 9 match against Al Sadd.

“Our goal is to collect three points, like we wish from all the games. We need to stay focused to maintain our lead. Those who come out on top will get three points and that’s very important. This match is important, but not that decisive. There’re still games left in the first phase and many more matches to come in the second phase.

“In the last seven seasons, we’ve won five league tournaments and the team that wins a lot means it’s at a good level. We don’t have to prove anything in the match against Al Sadd and I don’t want to give it any undue importance. I’m preparing my players in the best possible way.

“We’ve a large number of players raring to go. We aren’t really bothered about our rivals’ problems, whether they’ve injury worries or not. I’m focused only on my players’ readiness for the game,” said Belmadi.

Al Duhail have 22 points from seven victories and one draw. They are the only unbeaten side in the tournament.
