Pre-Match Press Conference — Al Kharaitiyat
Al Kharaitiyat coach Ahmad Al Ajlani spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 9 match against Al Ahli.
“It’s a different challenge every week as we’re facing different opponents. We had a bad game last week (they lost 2-8 to leaders Al Duhail). I don’t think any coach has overseen such a heavy defeat. Al Duhail were good, but we didn’t deserve to lose that heavily.
“In my 30 years of coaching, I haven’t suffered such an ignominy. But it happens in football. That’s also part of the game. It was a bitter experience. Our players’ fighting spirit was absent on the pitch. They didn’t show team spirit either.
“It was like Brazil losing the World Cup semifinal to Germany, that too on home soil. If you’re a good coach, you must take the responsibility and stand up to the challenge. I’m not blaming my players. You’ve to come back stronger.
“So in every sense, the match against Al Ahli will be our relaunch in this season’s QNB Stars League. They’re coming off their victory over Al Markhiya, so we’ve to be wary of them,” said Al Ajlani.
