Pre-Match Press Conference — Al Sadd

Al Sadd coach Jesualdo Ferreira spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 10 match against Al Khor.

“We’ve wonderful and beautiful memories that we can’t forget at the Khalifa International Stadium when we faced Al Rayyan in last season’s Emir’s Cup final. We won that match and hope we win again, this time against Al Khor.

“The match with Al Khor is difficult and we’re expecting the return from injuries of a couple of key players. I don’t like to talk about the absence of key players through injuries and national team commitments even though we’ve suffered the most because of these reasons. I hope it’ll be an entertaining game.

“We played several matches without ace striker Baghdad Bounedjah, so his absence through an injury he suffered during our loss to Al Duhail last week won’t affect the side much. On those occasions, we relied on Qatar international Hassan Al Haidous and Algerian attacking midfielder Jugurtha Hamroun. Against Al Khor, Baghdad’s replacement will be there in attack.

“We had made many mistakes against Al Duhail, but we didn’t deserve a 2-4 defeat as the margin didn’t indicate intensity of the battle on the field,” said Ferreira.
