Pre-Match Press Conference — Umm Salal

Umm Salal coach Mahmoud Jaber spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Round 6 match against Al Khor.

“We’re staying all focused to compensate for the lost points against Al Duhail. But then, you should accept the fact that Al Duhail are perhaps the strongest side around and understandably the leaders. Our morale is still high and we’re learning from the mistakes,” said Al Ajlani.

“There’re talks that we didn’t live up to expectations, but we put up a good fight. Statistics prove that. It’s normal that you lose to stronger teams. We created chances and could score a goal. Remember that, we had an unbeaten run of some 13 matches prior to that defeat. Our aim was to display good football and we aren’t worried about our future.

“We’re looking forward to the next game. My players are motivated, as always, and we’ve the possibility of collecting full points against Al Khor. Both teams are coming from defeats, so we expect a tough fight from Al Khor. They’ve some dangerous players, who can turn the tide of the game,” he said.

Umm Salal are fourth in the standings with 10 points, while Al Khor are eighth on four points.
