Pre-Match Press Conference - Al Sailiya

Al Sailiya coach Sami Trabelsi spoke to the media ahead of their tough QNB Stars League Round 5 match against Al Rayyan, scheduled for Friday.

“Al Rayyan are a formidable side with some outstanding players. Naturally, we’ve a tough task on hand. I hope my players would perform at the same level as they did against Al Sadd in the second round. We weren’t bad in that match and could give Al Sadd a run for their money.

“Against Al Sailiya in the previous round, we bounced back from a deficit and registered victory. We’ve the players to score wins,” said Trabelsi.

Asked whether they needed more players with the calibre of Brazilian playmaker Wagner (Ribeiro), the Tunisian replied in the negative.

“Of course, Wagner is undoubtedly an outstanding player. However, we’ve many quality players who can help the team achieve positive results. Wagner’s game really took off after he joined us. He wasn’t his usual self when he was with erstwhile El Jaish or Al Arabi. Now, he’s paying us back.

“Against Al Rayyan, our main focus would be on containing their strikers (Sebastian) Soria and (Abderrazzak) Hamdellah. We’e happy with our performance so far this season and hope to set bigger targets in future,” he added.
