Hosts Qatar SC won a thrilling encounter against QNB Stars League rivals Al Kharaitiyat in Week 10 to record a much-needed victory.

Qatar SC, who noe have seven points, went 2-0 up through Michael Babatunde in the 18th minute and Mohammed Tayebi in the 20th before Rashid Tiberkanine (40th) and Anwar Deba (53rd) pulled The Thunders level. Substitute Ali Awad sealed victory for the home side in the 69th.

The first half started in electric fashion, with Qatar SC on the attack and winning a host of corners. They were rewarded with a penalty when Gounerou Mohy swept the legs of Fahad Al Balooshi. Babatunde stepped up to convert the kick past the keeper and grab his third goal of the campaign.

Soon, Qatar SC got their second goal following a promising attack that led to a corner, delivered to Tayebi who was on hand to send in a right-footed volley from close.

With the half drawing to a close, it was Mohy this time who won a penalty for his side as he was impeded inside the area. Tiberkanine stepped up and deceived the keeper by shooting straight down the middle to pull a goal back.

They hosts were made to pay one more time when Deba came in from the right, skipped past his marker and unleashed a powerful left-footed drive into the bottom right corner.

As Al Kharaitiyat, who stayed on nine points, exerted a growing dominance on the game, they were shocked when they found themselves behind again. Ali Jasemi sent in a probing, out-swinging cross that escaped all but substitute Awad who was on hand to slide in and finish at the back post.

Qatar SC will be at home against Al Gharafa, while Al Kharaitiyat host Al Sadd at the Al Khor Stadium in Week 11.
