QNB Stars League Week 11 Pre-Match Press Conference — Al Rayyan

Al Rayyan coach Michael Laudrup spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 11 match against Al Ahli.

“We will do everything we can to end our campaign in the first phase on a winning note. That is more important given that we had to play out a draw with Umm Salal last week.

“After 10 games, we have lost and drew just once, and are only three points behind leaders Al Duhail. And we did not lose a game in the QSL Cup. We have had a wonderful first phase in the league. After having many new players in the group at the start of the season, I did not expect this much.

“In this game, we want to make a strong comeback. We will continue to work the same way. As far as trophies are concerned, we have set a target of winning one of the cup tournaments this season.

“We have many injury worries. Star striker Abderazzaq Hamdallah will not play this match with a strained muscle. Ahmed Al Saadi is already out for the season, and Sultan Al Kuwari and Ziad Ali are also on the sidelines. But injuries are part and parcel of the game. I hope we won’t be affected much,” said Laudrup.
