The Junior Stars League (JSL), sponsored by the Qatar Stars League Management (QSLM) and organised by Evolution Sports Qatar, is going full steam ahead.

More than 1,000 schoolchildren, in the age category of seven to 16, are fighting it out at different venues. The competition started in the beginning of October and will go on till the end of this academic year.

The QSLM is associated with the project as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative aimed at promoting football among the youth.

Teams are named after the QNB Stars League clubs and wear identical colours. The third round was held recently. The competition has now taken a break and will resume in January.

Children have the opportunity to attend QNB Stars League matches, meet players in person and also attend some training sessions. The seniors will, in turn, attend the JSL games to inspire and motivate the stars in the making.

QSLM Community Relations Officer Nasser Al Kuwari said, “We’re keen to get engaged with everyone in order to spread the culture and awareness of football, especially among schoolchildren. We’re very happy to sponsor the JSL in partnership with Evolution Sports Qatar with an aim of increasing the clubs’ fan base in this age category.”
